My painting will be on display. My new "Threads of History" Series. This one is "My Grandmother's Lace IV" - Original measures 20"X30". This is history viewed through my grandmother's generation, living in Missouri on a farm owned by the family for 200 years.
As I become aware of my family history, I realize how much it is part of my life. My own life is opening windows to help me see and create work from these experiences and my journey with art.
"Grandmother's Lace" painting shows the pieces of her lace and threads she used for sewing dresses, etc. These are the common threads in our family. I have followed in my grandmother footsteps designing clothes, sewing and painting and continuing to use these common threads.
